PANDEMIC DAYS

Illustration part of a series of a 100, creating 1 per day for 100 days (3 months). Part of the #100DaysProject Scotland 202. Full project here.

During the pandemic I experienced a couple of difficulties on top of the global health crisis we all went through: one of them was a breakup after the first lockdown and the subsequent loneliness that came after that during the next few lockdowns. I had to re-discover the joys of being by myself, and I got there eventually, but being a unipersonal “bubble” (groups of people you lived with are where able to interact with in Scotland) was hard. As you can see, some days were easier than others. There are a few drawings on this subject in the 2021 series.
I love to include little details that may be related to my life, or things I love, or simply things that I feel will make the character and the scene more believable. You can find some of my own illustrations within this illustration, for example. I feel like including of these small things help develop a deeper level within the drawing, tiny things to enjoy that keep you looking a bit longer.
