PANDEMIC DAYS

Part of the #100DaysProjectScotland 2021. Full project here. Created 1 illustration per day for 100 days (3 months).

During the pandemic I experienced a couple of difficulties on top of the global health crisis we all went through: one of them was a breakup after the first lockdown and the subsequent loneliness during the next few lockdowns. I had to re-discover the joys of being by myself, and I got there eventually, but being a unipersonal “bubble” (groups of people you lived with and were able to interact with in Scotland) was hard. As you can see, some days were easier than others. There are a few drawings on this subject in the 2021 series.
I love to include small details that make the character and the scene more believable, some of them related to my own life. You can find some of my other illustrations within this illustration, for example. I feel like including these small things help develop a deeper level within the drawing, tiny things to enjoy that keep you looking a bit longer.
